Hi I’m taking a statin called Crestor and I’m a diabetic and have been on it for a month now. The statin works very well but I’m having a bad run. I started taking the medicine a couple of weeks ago and when I stopped I was fine. I take a low dose of a statin called Lipitor (levothyroxine). I’m on the 5mg and I can’t seem to get a refill for the 5mg.
I have been on Lipitor and Crestor and have been on both. I take the 5mg and on the 5mg I’m getting the usual statin on the 5mg and I have not had any side effects with it. I’ve read that there is a chance that it will give you a harder time taking a statin. I do not believe this is the case. I’ve had no side effects from taking the 5mg statin.
